才见新春时渐遭；
百计营求都得意，
更须守己莫心高。

班周庙观欹器 据说，有一次孔子去周庙参观，见庙中有个欹器。孔子问道：“这是什么器物?”守庙的人回答说：“这是佑座器。”孔子说：“我听说这种东西灌满了水就翻过去，没有水就倾斜，灌一半的水正好能垂直正立，是这样的吗?”守庙的人回答说：“是的。”孔子让子路取来水试了试，果然这样，于是长叹一声说：“唉，哪有满了而不翻倒的呢?”清朝皇帝让人在紫禁城里摆设欹器，是借欹器“满则覆，中则正，虚则欹”的特点喻示“满招损，谦受益，戒盈持满”的道理，并以此警戒自己，以利于自己的统治。但也有人认为欹器是中庸的象征。
