A postwar Japanese politician whose career rose from poverty to the highest office. He entered politics after building a fortune in construction, served as Prime Minister from 1972 to 1974, advanced the normalization of relations with China and promoted large-scale national development, and later withdrew from public life amid financial scandals and health issues.
Jiao Yulu (焦裕禄)
Jiao Yulu, born in 1922 in Shandong, was a well-known model Communist Party cadre and county-level leader. He devoted his life to public service, led efforts to address Lankao’s major natural disasters, upheld strict personal integrity, and passed away due to illness in 1964. His conduct later became a national example for officials.
Huang Xing (黄兴)
Huang Xing (1874–1916), born in Changsha, Hunan, was a modern democratic revolutionary and military commander. He led multiple uprisings, served as Army Chief of Staff, and advocated for industrial development to save the nation. He was known as the 'Eight-Fingered General'.
