Effects​

Goujiao Sha primarily affects marriage, leading to relationship turmoil and constant arguments. Individuals with Goujiao Sha in their destiny may experience numerous interpersonal conflicts throughout their lives, often encountering legal disputes and difficulties in accumulating wealth. Goujiao Sha also indicates a propensity for personal accidents, especially if the chart includes other ominous stars like "Jin Shen (金神)" or "Bai Hu (白虎)", increasing the likelihood of facing significant dangers.

Method of Checking​

Check the remaining three branches (the six clash branches of Peach Blossom) based on the annual branch. For Yang males and Yin females, the three branches before the natal branch are Gou, and the three branches after are Jiao. For Yin males and Yang females, the three branches before the natal branch are Jiao, and the three branches after are Gou. For example, if the annual branch is Jiazi (甲子): a male born in the Jiazi year will have Mao as Gou before the natal branch and You as Jiao after the natal branch.

Records of Goujiao Sha can be found in the ancient text "Shi Shi Xing Jing", which is now lost, but detailed accounts are present in the Japanese work "Miko, Sincere Successors". The ancients believed that a strong Goujiao Sha in one's destiny could benefit the spouse, requiring the favorable influence of the four symbols and particularly needing resolution through methods like Jieyin. Depending on the month of birth, specific Jieyin can help mitigate the effects of Goujiao Sha.

An ancient poem states: "The claws and teeth kill the three branches of fate, the great taboo is Jin Shen and Yang Ren; the encircling kill overcomes the body with no blessing to save, often suffering from snake and tiger wounds." This verse describes the dangers under the destiny pattern of Goujiao Sha, particularly the disasters and unexpected harm and difficulties faced by the destiny holder. If there are no auspicious stars or beneficent stars to resolve Goujiao Sha in the chart, the destiny holder is likely to fall into adversity.
