Ciguǎn is an important auspicious star in the Four Pillars of Destiny, representing academic achievement, literary talent, and social status. Individuals with Ciguǎn in their destiny typically possess outstanding literary talent and wisdom, achieving significant accomplishments in academic, cultural, or literary fields. The influence of Ciguǎn is often reflected in the intelligence, literary works, and social reputation of the individual. Those with Ciguǎn in their destiny often excel academically, gain widespread recognition for their writings, and earn social acknowledgment and respect through their talents.

Method One: Using the Year Na Yin to Check Month, Day, and Hour Branches

  • Metal Life sees "Shen," Ren Shen is the true Ciguǎn;
  • Wood Life sees "Yin," Geng Yin is the true Ciguǎn;
  • Water Life sees "Hai," Gui Hai is the true Ciguǎn;
  • Earth Life sees "Hai," Ding Hai is the true Ciguǎn;
  • Fire Life sees "Si," Yi Si is the true Ciguǎn.

Method Two: Using the Day Stem to Check the Four Pillars

  • Jia (甲) Stem sees Geng Yin
  • Yi (乙) Stem sees Xin Mao
  • Bing (丙) Stem sees Yi Si
  • Ding (丁) Stem sees Wu Wu
  • Wu (戊) Stem sees Ding Si
  • Ji (己) Stem sees Geng Wu
  • Geng (庚) Stem sees Ren Shen
  • Xin (辛) Stem sees Gui You
  • Ren (壬) Stem sees Gui Hai
  • Gui (癸) Stem sees Ren Xu

The combination of the year stem, day stem, and other stems and branches in the Four Pillars determines whether Ciguǎn is present in the destiny. If Ciguǎn is present, the individual usually has high academic potential and writing talent, achieving significant accomplishments in cultural, educational, and academic fields.

Ciguǎn is a mythological term in destiny studies, originating from ancient descriptions of academic and cultural fields. The ancients believed that Ciguǎn represented literary talent and academic achievement, symbolizing the success in studies and outstanding literary talent of the individual. Ciguǎn is often accompanied by the Xuetang star, representing the temperament and achievements of scholars and literati.

The "Lántái Miàoxuǎn" states: "With a heroic spirit in the chest, the noble resides in the Ciguǎn." It is also beneficial to combine with Lu Ma, favoring prosperity and avoiding decline. The "Sānchē Yīlǎn" states: "Without the spirit of the academy, only benefiting teachers and scholars," suitable for being a teacher. The "Lǐ Yú Gē" states: "Born with Lu Ma as the true academy, if combined with Ciguǎn, one masters literature; encountering clashes without meeting, who will understand, without clashes and breaks, fortune and prosperity flourish." This means that those with the academy and Ciguǎn in their destiny should avoid voids and clashes, and the stems and branches should not encounter clashes to be useful, otherwise, the individual's ambitions may be difficult to realize.

The "Zhù Shèng Jīng" states: "Jia Chen Bing Yin, the academy is not true; or only wealthy shade, official position low and poor; studying and learning, only an empty name." This indicates that the academy fears falling into voids. The "Sānchē" states: "Without the spirit of the academy, only benefiting teachers and scholars." This indicates that the academy should ride on prosperity. The "Lǐ Yú Gē" states: "The academy is like a courier horse, with high rank and great merit overwhelming the world." This indicates that the academy should have a horse. It also states: "Born with Lu Ma as the true academy, if combined with Ciguǎn, one masters literature; encountering clashes without meeting, who will understand, without clashes and breaks, fortune and prosperity flourish." It also states: "Where the literary star gathers, it is a sign of auspiciousness among people, fame and glory surpassing heroes; if born without a true academy, how can talent and learning be outstanding." This indicates that the academy fears clashes and breaks. Moreover, when a person's destiny enters the pattern, conforming to creation, it is not in the academy or Ciguǎn but still beneficial.
