Tongzi Sha primarily indicates bad luck and misfortune. Those whose fate is affected by this Sha often face obstacles in their careers and have a difficult path ahead. They are likely to encounter individuals with poor character and malicious intentions, resulting in efforts that yield little tangible success. This Sha also significantly impacts marriage and relationships, often leading to late marriages or even lifelong singleness, with feelings of emotional distress and difficulty finding a way out.   1. Born in Spring or Autumn: If the natal chart is born in spring or autumn (calculated by the month branch), and the Day Branch or Hour Branch shows Yin (寅) or Zi (子).
  2. Born in Winter or Summer: If the natal chart is born in winter or summer, and the Day Branch or Hour Branch shows Mao (卯), Wei (未), or Chen (辰).
  3. Year Pillar Na Yin is Metal or Wood: If the Year Pillar Na Yin belongs to Metal or Wood, and the Day Branch or Hour Branch shows Wu (午) or Mao (卯).
  4. Year Pillar Na Yin is Water or Fire: If the Year Pillar Na Yin belongs to Water or Fire, and the Day Branch or Hour Branch shows You (酉) or Xu (戌).
  5. Year Pillar Na Yin is Earth: If the Year Pillar Na Yin is Earth, and the Day Branch or Hour Branch shows Chen (辰) or Si (巳).

Tongzi Sha is a yin-yang term calculated through the arrangement and combination of the Four Pillars. The ancients believed that those whose fate was affected by Tongzi Sha might have been related to a boy or girl in a previous life, hence they were called "returning person" or "substitute." Folklore suggests that this Sha causes frequent misfortunes in marriage and health, with heavenly urgings leading to inevitable setbacks in marriage, career, and health. The ancients used this to warn that those encountering Tongzi Sha should do more good deeds and be cautious in their conduct to mitigate its adverse effects.
